Greggs has collaborated with Just Eat this week in London to evaluate a roller skating operation.
The Sausage Roller Skating Squad will be reviewing orders from London’s Ludgate Hill and Palmer Street outlets.
It is the UK’s first of its kind, the firm said. It added that deliveries would include original and vegan rolls, breakfast sweets and sweet treats.

“Roller skating has been all over my timeline during lockdown, so after hanging up my ice-skates, I was really excited to give it a go as part of the Just Eat roller squad – what a cool way to have your sausage rolls delivered,” she said.Just Eat has collaborated with Love Island and Dancing on Ice star Maura Higgins to celebrate the launch of the trial.

Just Eat aims to prove its roller skating deliveries provide a quicker service, as recent road blocks across the capital have proved difficult for conventional couriers.
Professional roller skaters will appear in the trial service. It will be considered for a further roll out if successful.

“At Just Eat, we are always keen to explore new ways to improve our service for customers and so as the exclusive delivery partner for Greggs, we’re delighted to be trialling a roller-skating service for them. Our customers love Greggs and hope our sausage roll-er squad will prove to be a fun and effective way of getting Greggs into the hands of our customers as quickly as possible,” said Andrew Kenny, managing director at Just Eat UK.

Greggs, with no minimum expenditure, is available exclusively on Just Eat via the app or website.
