Pringles has seven manufacturing facilities around the world. The Mechelen facility is one of the two Pringles plants in Europe that ships its potato chips to more than 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (EMEA).

The capital will be used to upgrade production lines as well as purchase new equipment. The snack producer said a new frying would increase throughput, while a new utility system will be introduced to make the plant more sustainable. By using the air that comes out of the fryer, the system will generate steam via natural gas consumption.

The first phase of the project starts at the end of this year, with a second phase beginning in 2023.

In 2019, Kellogg invested €110m to extend its Pringles plant in Kutno, Poland to keep up with Europeans growing love of the iconic potato chip snack.
